DIXIE TECH TEAM

4-H is the absolute BEST environment  for youth to learn about technology. Here in Washington County we are excited for another year of providing youth with a variety of short classes on GPS (Global Positioning Systems), Robotics, and Web 2.0 Business Applications and a variety of other fun learning activities.   

The Dixie Tech Team is a community club for youth 10-18 who are interested in developing a wide range of technological skills. The club meets twice a month (1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30pm) and designs, builds, and discovers all kinds of fun things! They learn about:  

  • Building computers
  • Web Development
  • Photo editing
  • GPS/GIS
  • Lego Robotics
  • Video production
  • Problem solving
  • Critical thinking
  • Team work
  • Logic model
  • Business Applications

 

 

2011-2012 Tentative Programs (Check Calendar for specific dates)

  • 2011 - Nov-Jan: Robotics - Enter the world of Lego Mindstorm Technology! Learn how to design, engineer, build and program these robots. 
  • 2012 - Feb-Mar: Web Design and Applications - Learn how to create a website and discover the business applications of Web 2.0 and blow people away with your Internet skills.
  • 2012 - Apr-May: Video Production - Design, produce and edit videos of all types.  
  • 2012 - Sept-Dec: Robotics - Prepare for competition in the FIRST Lego League (FLL) Region Qualifier tournament. For more info about the Utah FLL, check out the website:  www.utfll.utah.edu/
